A few of us attended the Charity table top sale at the Gingerbread Man in Market Drayton last Saturday, we needed to raise some funds and it was for a good cause as well.
We didn’t make a penny, it cost us for our coffee (we did get a free cuppa and sausage sandwich when we arrived) and then made a donation to the charity but decided like most of the stalls to pack up and leave as it was very wet.
Dave was also here but he took refuge in the Dogs Trust tent and left us to get wet!!
Don’t forget we have a work party this Saturday 1st September 2018. The time is going very quickly at the moment and we are already into a new month, wonder what the weather will bring.
As usual we are grateful for any help we can get so why not pop along at 10.00 am and see what we get up to.
Jenny and Terry attended Market Drayton Festival recently and held a tombola which always goes down well, I must say Jenny is the queen of tombola’s. They also sold some of the reserve greetings cards raising some much needed revenue for the reserve. Well done to you both!
Just a reminder that there will be a work party on Saturday 18th August commencing 10.00 – 12.00 noon. Come along and see what we get up to, at least its not too hot now for tidying up.
There is still plenty to see and do, the picture below shows us trying to see what is in the small dipping pool at the last work party. Its always fascinating to see what we have in such a small area.
See you Saturday!
Just a reminder that there is a work party tomorrow Saturday 4th August 2018 commencing at 10.00 am.
It is forecast to be very warm again so come prepared as there is quite a lot to do. It’s surprising with the heat and lack of rain how everything manages to grow and the paths get overgrown very quickly.
The water level continues to go down as the trees take up the water but at the moment there is nothing we can do about this but watch and wait. I’m not going to do a rain dance yet but it might be necessary in the near future so watch this space.
Our deep water signs look out of place with very little water but it is still deep enough so still have to warn everyone to be careful.
Look forward to catching up tomorrow over a nice cuppa.
