The Friends of The Turner Hodgkiss Community Nature Reserve
Our small Community Nature Reserve was established in the spring of 2009 through the generosity of Terry and Jenny Hodgkiss who live across the road in what was “Ivy House” farm. They have leased the land to our small, dedicated and enthusiastic group of volunteers who are working hard to make what was previously a disused piece of land into a “Community Nature Reserve” for all.
The Turner Hodgkiss Community Nature Reserve is open to the public during daylight hours and welcomes all those who long for old fashioned peace and quiet with a touch of nature thrown in.
New volunteers are always welcome! If you are interested in helping as a volunteer or would just like to chat, call in at the site on any of the dates and times indicated below and you will be sure of a warm welcome!
We normally have working parties at the Reserve on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 10am to 12 noon, with complimentary tea and coffee at 11.00 am. Come along and see what we have been doing, have a chat and a cuppa!
All working parties and surveys are subject to cancellation. If the weather is very wet or cold please check with the secretary (details below) prior to travelling to ensure a scheduled event is taking place.
